Panerathon 2025, the 16th annual installment of Youngstown’s premier fundraising event, will return Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. The 10K race starts at 10 a.m. and a 2-mile event begins at 10:05 a.m. Participants can choose between individual or team registrations.

Pre-registration is $30 for the 10K and $25 for the 2-mile event, with race-day registration costing $35 and $30, respectively.

Teams of five or more can register at a discounted rate of $20 per person. Children aged 10 and under can participate for free, courtesy of PNC Bank. All participants will receive a Panerathon T-shirt, a race bag filled with gifts, and entry to the post-race celebration.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the 10K run and 2-mile walk/run support the patients, programs and equipment needs of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

“We are so grateful to Sam and Caryn Covelli, who saw the importance of Dr. Rashid Abdu’s vision and helped make it a reality through this wonderful partnership. Our sponsors are the engine that keep this wonderful family event going,” said Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley President Paul S. Homick Jr.

Packet pickup is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Covelli Centre. Team captains have the option to collect packets for their entire team or have individual members pick up their own.

“Panerathon is more than just a race; it’s become a community tradition that brings together individuals of all ages and fitness levels to support services provided by the JACBCC,” said sponsors.

Funds raised contribute to services like the mobile mammography unit, which has provided over 11,000 breast cancer screenings in local neighborhoods and workplaces.
