Cleveland Hopkins murals honor Tuskegee Airmen | The North Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen provided archival photos to ensure accuracy and authenticity.
Linear Creative is announcing the completion and installation of the Cleveland Heroes Project mural at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The exhibit celebrates the courage, legacy and local impact of the Tuskegee Airmen — the first African American military aviators in the U.S. Army Air Forces (which later became the U.S. Air Force).
About the project
Created in partnership with the North Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, the Cleveland Heroes Project bridges history, education and community.
Linear Creative, a Cleveland and Columbus-based marketing and design agency, designed the large-scale murals. Students at the Cleveland School of the Arts created the striking portrait artwork.
About the murals
In early 2025, Linear Creative was invited to bid on a special project to elevate public awareness and honor the Airmen’s World War II service. Linear Creative partnered with SpeedPro Cleveland, a local production and installation firm known for high-quality, large-format work. Together, they transformed a vision of remembrance and education into a powerful visual experience.

The two-part exhibit is located in the airport’s baggage claim area. Thousands of travelers aer expected to see the murals each day.
The installation includes:
- Exit Wall Exhibit – This expansive mural weaves together African American cultural elements and patriotic themes to tell the Airmen’s story. The North Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen provided archival photos to ensure historical accuracy and authenticity.
- Local Heroes Pillars – Two freestanding pillars feature illustrated portraits of local Tuskegee Airmen, connecting a national legacy to Cleveland’s own community heroes.
“The Cleveland Heroes Project perfectly embodies what design can achieve when creativity, education and community come together,” said Raymond Jasinski, owner and creative director of Linear Creative.
“We are honored to help tell this powerful story through a visual experience that will inspire travelers for years to come,” said Jasinski.
The project offered students a unique opportunity to explore history through art. As part of the airport’s commitment to community engagement, the exhibit invites visitors to reflect on the resilience and service that continue to shape America’s story.
Where to find the murals
Travelers are encouraged to experience the tribute firsthand. The murals are located in the baggage area. The exhibit will be on display through July 2026.
