Mahoning Valley Historical Society will mark National Ice Cream Day today with local history, activities and free ice cream.

Activities occur noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at Tyler History Center in downtown Youngstown. Admission is free.

The event features a performance by barbershop quartet Exhibit A. A sweet treats tour includes information about Good Humor and founder Harry Burt. Visitors will also have the opportunity to make ice cream in the same Youngstown building that created the famous ice cream sucker.

The event is sponsored by the Joy Baking Group of Hermitage, Pa. Free ice cream is courtesy of Livi Steel.
