The festival includes Italian Fest Man and Woman of the Year presentations, Miss Italian Fest Pageant, a homemade wine contest, hot peppers in oil contest, the awarding of Italian Fest scholarships, a Sunday Mass and procession, a morra tournament and other activities. Entertainment includes music by The Feral Cats, Rex Taneri, Vintage Vinyl and RDNA (Aug. 1); Jim Frank, Butch Nicholas Band, G-4 and The Vindys (Aug. 2); and Lowellville Band, Avanti Band, No Funk No Justice and The HouseBand (Aug. 3). The day opens with a parade and continues with music, food, fashion, art, dance, a pageant and children’s activities. The festival celebrates the countries and cultures of Hispanic/Latin America, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Perú and Puerto Rico. Countries will display items and musical instruments from their native lands in their respective booths. Attendees can sample music, visit, and learn about different cultures.
