Visit Lawrence County’s “Sunday” Sauce Trail has returned with authentic Italian food and the opportunity to win prizes.

The “Sunday” Sauce Trail (#VLCSundaySauceTrail) celebrates Italian heritage by offering authentic pasta sauce (or “gravy”) at participating restaurants – not just on Sundays but throughout the week.

The public is invited to explore this family-tradition-inspired trail for a taste of local culture.

Twelve local Italian restaurants and businesses in Lawrence County are represented in the Sunday Sauce Trail: Four Pizzeria Bar & Grille, Gallo’s Italian Villa, Ladies of the Dukes, Mangino’s Pizzeria (Mahoningtown), Mangino’s Pizzeria (Neshannock), Nico Luciano’s, Pagley’s Pasta & More, Patsy’s Bar & Grille, Soni’s Italian Restaurant, Valentino Cheese & Dairy Company, VentiSei Wine Bar & Pizzeria and Vinny’s Pizza and Restaurant. Visitors can make their own Sunday sauce traditions by ordering sauce from Ladies of the Dukes and buying homemade cavatelli from Valentino Cheese & Dairy.

Visitors are encouraged to dine in or out at all 12 establishments, order from each and simply scan the designated QR code at each location to check in. Participants can collect points for prizes like a T-shirt, apron, ornament, or all. Visit Lawrence County recommends checking each location’s hours of operation before visiting.

“The goal is to showcase our local Italian restaurants and our rich Italian heritage in Lawrence County,” said Ginny Jacob Colella, assistant director of Visit Lawrence County. “Our community was built upon immigrants who relocated here and passed down their culture and traditions. Having the largest concentration of Italian Americans in Pennsylvania, this trail is a must!”

Digital passports can be downloaded at VisitLawrenceCounty.com. For more information, call Visit Lawrence County at 724-654-8408 or email in**@*****************ty.com. Visit Lawrence County also maintains pages on Facebook and Instagram.
