The Trumbull Art Gallery is announcing the return of its “Trees at the Gallery” holiday marketplace. The seventh-annual event opens Thursday, Nov. 12 and runs through Jan. 2, 2027.
The seasonal tradition transforms the downtown Warren art gallery into a festive, curated walkthrough market connecting shoppers with unique, handcrafted items made by local artists.
The holiday displays, which use of wood, metal, wire, ceramic, artificial greenery and fabric, serve as a backdrop for featuring and selling handcrafted work and include fine art, jewelry, seasonal décor and other items. Additional work will be on display and available for purchase in the TAG Gift Shop.
“This annual event has become a staple of the holiday season in downtown Warren,” said Patty Cleary-Talstein, chair of the event’s planning committee. “We’re thrilled to again give local artists a beautiful and festive space to showcase their talents.”
In addition to a holiday tree raffle featuring a fully-decorated tree, visitors to the show can enter a second raffle to win a collection of handcrafted ornaments donated by each participating artist. The winner of a third raffle will receive a TAG gift certificate that can be used to purchase an item in the gift shop or gallery or used toward a TAG class. The drawings take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. Winners need not be present.
Public reception
A special public reception occurs 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Nov. 29 as part of Small Business Saturday. The event features live music, holiday treats and hot cocoa.
Continuing a tradition started in 2021, TAG will sell limited-edition ceramic angel ornaments handcrafted in the Clay@TAG Studio. A newly-designed angel is being introduced this year. Proceeds from the ornament sales provide financial assistance to those who cannot otherwise afford the opportunity to attend any of TAG’s classes or workshops.
Expanded hours
To accommodate holiday shopping, TAG has expanded its seasonal hours to include Wednesdays, beginning Nov. 18 and continuing through Jan. 2. The marketplace is open noon-4 p.m., Wednesdays; noon-6 p.m., Thursdays; noon-4 p.m., Fridays; and 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturdays.
The Trumbull Art Gallery, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed in 1957, is located at 158 N. Park Ave. on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren. To find out more about this holiday event, visit TAG’s website or check the gallery’s Facebook page.
