The Firestone Cultural and Custodial Committee will present the second annual “Art in Her Heart” Idabelle Firestone Fine Art Exhibition and Sale on Saturday at Firestone Park in Columbiana.
The free event occurs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Idabelle Firestone Gathering Place and Garden. The sale includes original fine art in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and ceramics.
The show also features the work of Canfield artist Christopher Leeper which will be on display in the main tent. In addition to being a full-time artist, Leeper is a published author and illustrator of four children’s books for the Smithsonian and African Wildlife Foundation.
The main tent also contains “Local Color,” a booth displaying landscapes, buildings and landmarks depicting Columbiana and the surrounding county. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Squeaky Wheel Theater Company, a local, nonprofit theater group.
Other event attractions include a children’s creative art table by Warm Heart Studio, music by cellist Ed Madej and concessions by Mike’s ’80s Ice Cream Truck and Chick-Fil-A.
“We are proud to launch a series of art events at this special location in the park honoring Idabelle and to allow the community to have the opportunity to view and add a piece of original artwork to their collections,” said local philanthropist and event founder Pat Tingle.
