The Friendly Squares will celebrate their 16th anniversary during their monthly square dance on Saturday, Sept. 12. The dance takes place from 7:30-10 p.m. at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles.
Dress is casual and there is a $7 per person donation at the door. Gene Hammond will be the caller for the evening.
A new year of weekly square dance lessons begins on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 7-9 p.m. Sessions will run weekly through April at SCOPE. Each lesson builds on the previous session and includes new steps, review and practice to help attendees master the moves. The fee is $6 per person, per lesson.
