Jewish Film Series to present Houdini film, magician Oct. 11

To mark the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death, the Jewish Film Series will present a film about the famed escape artist and illusionist

To mark the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death, the Jewish Film Series will present a film about the famed escape artist and illusionist in conjunction with a show by magician and mentalist Steve Haberman.

The program occurs Sunday, Oct. 11 at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the film will be shown at 4:30 p.m.

Before the event, the Susan Kanterman Book Club will discuss “Mrs. Houdini” by Victoria Kelly. The book club is free and open to everyone ages 18 and older.

The fee for the film and magician has suggested tiers of $5, $18 and $36. Registration is required by Oct. 8.
