JCC to offer lifeguard training courses Dec. 19-21 | Participants who successfully complete the lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years.
The JCC is offering lifeguard training for ages 15 and older Dec. 19-21 at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown.
The training provides entry-level participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel can take over.
Participants who successfully complete the lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. An online portion must be completed before classroom dates. The cost is $190 for JCC members and $260 for nonmembers.
Also being offered is a First Aid/CPR/AED training Dec. 20. Participants will learn to recognize and respond to breathing, cardiac and other emergencies.
Successful participants earn a two-year American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, valid for two years. The cost is $75 for JCC members and $100 for nonmembers.
