Mahoning Valley Historical Society is informing visitors that the Arms Family Museum remains open and accessible during the closure of the Wick Avenue overpass over the Madison Avenue Expressway.

The Wick Avenue bridge will be closed for approximately 90 days for deck replacement and other infrastructure upgrades. The overpass closed on May 18. During construction, the only access to the Arms Family Museum will be north on Wick Avenue from downtown Youngstown.

Road construction impacts the following:

  • Eastbound and Westbound entrance and exit ramps to the Madison Avenue Expressway.
  • Eastbound and Westbound service roads.

MVHS is advising visitors that E. Rayen Avenue is the final east connector to Wick Avenue from Oak and Watt streets. Hazel and Elm streets and Fifth Avenue connect to Wick Avenue from W. Rayen and Lincoln avenues (from the west).

Despite construction, all Arms Family Museum operations, programs and events will continue as scheduled. Regular museum hours are noon-4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

The Stewart Media Archives, located on the Arms Family Museum property, is open by appointment only and may be reached at 330-743-2589, ext. 105. For more information, visit www.mahoninghistory.org.
