OH WOW’s “Silly Science Sunday” returns Sunday, Sept. 13. The 16th annual STEAM festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wean Park in downtown Youngstown.
The free family event is Oh Wow’s biggest celebration of the year. Wean Park is located at 201 S. Phelps St., Youngstown 44503.
The festival will include over 30 STEAM exhibitors offering interactive demonstrations and hands on activities by local schools, organizations and STEAM enthusiasts from across the region. In addition, the event will offer local food trucks, prizes and giveaways.
“For sixteen years, OH WOW! has been sparking curiosity across the Mahoning Valley, and ‘Silly Science Sunday’ is where that curiosity comes to life outdoors. Bring the kids, grab a blanket, and get ready to explore science, technology, engineering, art and math in ways you won’t find anywhere else,” said event organizers in a release.
“ ‘Silly Science Sunday’ has become a beloved Youngstown-area tradition, drawing families from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond for a day that makes learning feel like play. Whether your kids are into rockets, robots, bugs, or bubbles, they’ll find an exhibit that lights them up,” said organizers. “And if you’re an educator, community partner, or STEM-curious grown-up, you’ll find plenty here to spark your own sense of wonder too.”
