The Mill Creek Junior Baseball League will host its 6th annual “Pink Out Tournament” in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Games take place Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and Oct. 4-5 at Mill Creek Junior Baseball and Girls Softball Complex, 1106 Bears Den Road, Youngstown.
Proceeds benefit Yellow Brick Place Cancer Support Center, a local nonprofit that provides free programs and services to cancer patients, survivors and their families in the Mahoning Valley. Yellow Brick Place offers free wigs, support groups, wellness programs and education.
The tournament will feature 40 teams from across the region, all sporting pink in a show of unity and support for those battling breast cancer. The community is invited to attend, wear pink and cheer on the players. In addition to softball, the event will include raffles, concessions and special activities.
“Softball is about teamwork, and this tournament shows how powerful our community can be when we come together for a cause,” said Mike Burke, tournament organizer with Mill Creek Girls Softball.
“We are deeply grateful to Mill Creek Junior Baseball and Girls Softball League for dedicating this tournament to support our mission,” said Kathleen Moliterno, executive director of Yellow Brick Place.
