“Ignite the Night” America 250 celebration returns today. The Youngstown event was canceled last month due to extreme weather.

The celebration will include fireworks, a performance by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and other activities at Wean Park and Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre in downtown Youngstown.

The day kicks off at 2 p.m. with a Youngstown Flea at Wean Park. Gates to the amphitheater open at 6 p.m. with food trucks, family activities and community organizations.

• 2 p.m. – Youngstown Flea at Wean Park.
• 6 p.m. – Gates open at the amphitheater. Includes food trucks, community organizations and family activities.
• 6-7 p.m. – SMARTS Beats Drum Circle.
• 7-8 p.m. – Live performance by The Rick Ward Project.
• 8:30-9:15 p.m. – Youngstown Symphony Orchestra performance.
• 9:15-9:30 p.m. – intermission.
• 9:30 p.m. – Youngstown Symphony Orchestra performance.
• 9:50-10:15 p.m. Youngstown Symphony Orchestra finale with fireworks.

Other attractions

Family-friendly activities and interactive experiences will occur during the event.

• Wean Park will offer free kite kits (while supplies last).
• A lineup of local food trucks.
• Viewing areas in the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre and Wean Park.
• An interactive kids zone in Wean Park with OH WOW.
  

Parking

Free parking is available at the Covelli Centre. Visitors can access the amphitheater through Wean Park’s Walk of Fame and Community Alley. Accessible parking will be available in the lot directly adjacent to the amphitheater.

Additional free parking will also be available at Stambaugh Auditorium and the M70 lot at Youngstown State University. Shuttles will be available from those lots to the amphitheater from 6-11 p.m.

Visitors are encourages to bring lawn chairs, due to limited seating at Wean Park and the amphitheater.
