The event will include a mini-gallery of photographer Joan Roth’s work, as well as a live talk back via Zoom with her. Light refreshments will be served.

The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Series will show “A Feminist Lens: The Art & Activism of Photographer Joan Roth” at 6 p.m. March 12 at the JCC, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The 30-minute documentary focuses on five decades of Joan Roth’s pioneering photography, in which she used her camera to advocate for homeless women in New York City, documented leaders in the U.S. Women’s Movement from the 1970s through today and illuminated the diverse lives of Jewish women around the world.

The event will include a mini-gallery of Roth’s work, as well as a live talk back via Zoom with her. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is free. Donations will be accepted at the door to help fund future films. Registration is required by March 11. Visit jccyoungstown.org/filmseries to register.
