Warren Mayor Douglas Franklin will discuss development in and near the downtown during the Youngstown Press Club’s breakfast meeting. Warren’s downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods are slated for a major revitalization in the coming months and Franklin will discuss current and future projects connected to this effort. Franklin, a Democrat who has been Warren’s mayor for 12 years, is unopposed for a fourth four-year term in that office in the Nov. 7 general election. He cites the demolition of the blighted former St. Joseph Riverside Hospital building late last year and earlier this year as one of his major accomplishments.
